A Glamour Affair's Glamorous Tees

I am so excited that our new t shirt line came in this past weekend.  We quickly arranged for a photo shoot with Lori Waddell of Lori Waddell Photography and our model Caitlyn Henderson for this weekend so we could quickly make the t shirts available to you before Christmas.  Of course hair and makeup was done by Nisha and I at A Glamour Affair.  I absolutely love these shirts, the way they fit, and their versatility!!!  Check out these pics from our photo shoot and hopefully you will make one of our tees part of your wardrobe!  Just look to the right sidebar and you will find where you can purchase them.  Caitlyn is an aspiring model and let me tell you this girl knows how to work it!!  I felt like I was working with America's Next Top Model.  She was so professional and really put a lot of thought into her poses and how they should work with the wardrobe.  I was extremely impressed!!!  And what can I say about Lori Waddell?!?!?!?  Just LOOK at these pictures.  She is AMAZING!

As for the fit:  The t shirt is a longer shapely fit.  It's not clingy, but it's also not loose like a men's tee.  I happen to hate cap sleeves so I love that these tees have the longer short sleeves.  I usually wear a medium in a t shirt but I prefer the large in these.  That is because I don't like anything to cling to my stomach (I've birthed 2 large babies lol).  Caitlyn is wearing a small in these pictures.  She is really tiny so it was looser fitting on her.  The tank top is a loose fit and true to size.  The sweatshirt is also true to size.  I can wear the medium, but in order to feel more cozy I would order a large.  Caitlyn is wearing a medium in the picture.  I just wanted to fill everyone in on the sizing because it is always an issue for me when I'm ordering something.  I want to know how it fits!

Styled Boudoir Sessions

We are so excited about our upcoming Boudoir Sessions this weekend with Lori Waddell of Lori Waddell Photography.  A Glamour Affair is teaming up with Lori to do the styling for the photo shoot.  We are going to have three different set options.  One will involve snow (soooo excited), one will include our infamous purple wall from "The Raven" shoot and the other will be a leopard curtain backdrop.  We are supplying many bustiers and accessories to choose from that are going to be absolutely beautiful!  And of course we will be doing hair and makeup for everyone.  It is going to be sooooo much fun!!!!!  We will definitely share with you some samples from the shoot so that you can decide if you want to sign up with us for some future boudoir shoots.  Here are some samples of inspiration photos that we are using for our sessions this weekend.  We are thinking beautiful sexy winter shots!!!

A Glamour Affair does.......The Raven: A DIY Tutorial

Nisha and I just LOVE Halloween, so you can imagine how excited we are to blog about "Halloweeny" hair and makeup.  So we decided to do........ The Raven.  So first we set out to find an outfit.  We knew we could get a good price on something at Marshalls so that is where we went first.  Luckily, we found the PERFECT dress.  It was black and had sequins and did I mention perfect?  The best part was that it was only $16.99.  Then I wanted to make a capelet with feathers to go along with the dress so it looked more "raven-ish".  Below the picture set you will find a DIY tutorial on how to make the raven feather capelet, along with a hair and makeup tutorial.  Our great photographer friend Lori Waddell of Lori Waddell Photography was the photographer for this fun little photo shoot.  Click on the link to visit Lori's website to see more of her work.  I hope you have as much fun with your Halloween costume as we did with this one!

Barbie Styled Photo Shoot Featuring Couture Barbie Costumes

We are beyond excited to share with our readers our Barbie styled photo shoot.  This is our Vogue like high fashion Barbie hair and makeup and clothing play dress up shoot......WITH REAL LIVE BARBIES!!!  You know how much fun it was when you were a kid?!?!  Well this was like a thousand times that much fun!!!!  I know we revealed a sneak peak a while back, but we are ready to share with you the whole shebang!  We decided to wait and save this styled shoot as a Halloween post because who better to go as for Halloween than the beautiful Barbie, right?!  While deciding on who should be our models, we decided that there was no one more perfect than our little "barbiesque" (I made that word up!) cousins Adrianna and Abbey.  They are so beautiful and blonde.  The skirts that you see are designs by my sister Alisha Collins of Fairytale Jubilee.  If you want one just click on the link to take you over to her website where you can purchase it.  She made them especially for this photo shoot.  The amazing photographer for this session was my Aunt, Brigette Carruth, of In Focus Photography.  If you are in the Atlanta area and would like a special Barbie styled photo session like the one pictured below feel free to contact her at www.infocusphotographyonline.com.  The shoot was styled, including hair and makeup, by us at A Glamour Affair.  We will add tutorials to this post tomorrow so you will know exactly how to get these looks for Halloween.

Breast Cancer Awareness Styled Photo Shoot

We are so excited to share with you our Breast Cancer Awareness Styled Photo Shoot.  We have already featured my Aunt Brigette as a photographer along with an interview with her in the past.  Not only is she a photographer but she is also a breast cancer survivor.  So we asked Brigette (In Focus Photography) to participate as our model and photographer for this special styled session.  We lost a very special cousin, Susan, last year to breast cancer and also have many family members, including my very special Neesie and Aunt Ann who are breast cancer survivors.  That is what makes this photo shoot extra special, especially the fact that Brigette is a survivor and our family is so grateful to God that he has helped her to fight the cancer and......WIN!!!!!  We hope that these pictures are a reminder to you of the beauty in a woman's strength.  Please remember to donate to the cause, us girls have to stick together and fight for "our girls"!  If you would like to donate through Brigette's team to Hope Walks Atlanta just visit www.hopewalksatlanta.com and make a donation through paypal.  This team is part of the Susan G. For the second half of the session we decided to spice things up a bit and added pink to Brigette's hair and enhanced the pink pigment on her eyes and lips.  I used Kevin Murphy's pink color bug on her hair, which washes out, and pink real hair extensions that I bought at Sephora for 1/2 off (yay!).

I absolutely love this picture and think that Brigette is absolutely gorgeous.  We had so much fun at this session and were so glad to get to do this with Brigette!!!!

This last picture just sums up what a good time we had that night!!!!!  And I think that my aunt looks absolutely adorable in this picture.  I also have to mention the fact that she was rockin' those leather pants.......She's still got it!
